Where did the races of men that we see today originate?
And Now, if We do not do Something Fast The peoples of earth were united in a program of trying to build a tower up into the heaves and find God. Of course they were not going to succeed but it did not serve God's purpose to let this go on at the time of Nimrod. He confused their languages so that this great united effort was no longer possible, and scattered them throughout the whole earth, And there they went. The descendents of Shem went in one direction and developed into the Semitic races. The descendants of Shem would become religious leaders of the world. It is interesting to note that all the great religions of the world, Judaism, Islam, and Christianity have all arisen from the descendants of Shem. Ham was to be a servant. History bears out the accuracy of that curse and its' fulfillment. The Japethites were those who were going to enlarge their borders. They developed into the largest constituency by far and occupied far more of the earth's surface than Shem and Ham put together. Thus the Bible tells us that these scattered people went out into the world and began to populate it. If you want to put in the time and effort to make the search you can see where all of the races came from. You can find where these children settled. You can find names on the map that answer to the names we have read about in chapter 10. The biblical account is most adequate in describing the origin of the races of the world. So God scattered these people and confused their languages so they could not communicate with one another. Thus they had to abandon their grand scheme and go off into other parts of the world, with people who spoke their language, and do other things to make their living. God had a plan in mind for redemption that He was going to work out in time and history and He did not want men, at that point in history, interfering with it.
